In a shocking incident in the Natunpara area near Garia station on Friday night, a youth named Babu is accused of attacking his live-in partner, Meeta Gayen, by slitting her throat and hand vein with a sharp weapon.
Meeta Gayen was rushed to Bangur Hospital in critical condition, and the accused youth is currently absconding. The Narendrapur police station has initiated an investigation, conducting raids at various locations in search of the alleged attacker.
According to police sources and local residents, Meeta Gayen managed to escape to a neighbor's house to save her life. Reportedly, the motive behind the attack was domestic dispute between the live-in partners.
The victim had been living with Babu as a live-in partner after leaving her family, and their relationship was marked by frequent conflicts. Sources indicate that Babu was known to have relations with multiple women in the area, leading to escalating tensions between the couple.
The dispute reached a critical point on the evening of the incident, resulting in Babu allegedly inflicting injuries on various parts of Meeta's body with a sharp object.
